Seller Verification, Mobile Numbers & SMS OTP Policy
To maintain a safe, fraud-free marketplace, Hirveli requires all boutique sellers and brand partners to verify their mobile phone number via One-Time Password (OTP) verification before listing products or activating buyer contact channels.
- Mobile Number Verification: Indian mobile numbers (+91) are verified using secure SMS OTP services operated through licensed Indian telecom gateways (including 2Factor.in), strictly compliant with TRAI Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) regulations and Indian Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR).
- Cryptographic Protection: OTP values are protected using cryptographic salting and SHA-256 hashing before verification. Plaintext OTP codes are never logged or stored in our databases.
- Zero Telemarketing & Spam Protection: Mobile numbers collected for merchant verification are strictly used for identity validation, account recovery, security alerts, and fraud prevention. We never sell, rent, or lease phone numbers to third-party advertisers or telemarketers.
- Verification Logs & Fraud Prevention: Timestamps of verification sessions and security metadata (such as delivery status and attempt rates) are retained solely for audit logging, risk monitoring, and fraud dispute resolution.
